Value of Networks Go Beyond “Networking”

Public relations consultants can be some of the best – and worst – self-marketers and new business development experts.  Whether gung-ho champions of their brand or admittedly invisible and glad for whatever referrals come their way, PR pros need to find a better way to collaborate with smart colleagues, commiserate about ethics and legal issues, and communicate their strengths to referral sources and prospects.

Julie Dennehy, APR, will share her perspective about the value of networks as the guest speaker during the PRSA IPA brown bag conference call March 9 at 2 pm ET. With the title, “Building Your Business Through Alliances,”the call will focus on how independent practitioners can create alliances with other specialists and team up to pitch business together.  The call is free for IPA members and only $60 for other PRSA members. Non-members can participate too and get a full PRSA membership as part of their registration. Register here.

“From social media (pros AND cons) to regular in-person social events, networking and collaborating is the single best way to build your business while networking, sharing resources, and having peer-to-peer networks and development even as a senior level professional,” Julie says.  “Building and maintaining a professional PR network isn’t easy, but it sure is rewarding and the hard work pays off in the long run.”

As one of three directors for the PRConsultants Group (www.prconsultantsgroup.com), a national network of 39 independent PR practitioners and boutique agencies, Julie is ready and willing to represent the network and make you laugh, listen, and learn about how you can extend your own network and make it work for you.
